City of Anniston | Media Release | Anniston Changers: Minor Home Repair Grants

Good Afternoon, 

The Anniston Changers are proud to announce their 5th round of grant opportunities opening from Monday, April 8, 2024, until Monday, May 13, 2024. Grant applications focus on minor residential property repairs that correct a health or safety hazard and may be up to $2,500.

These grants come from the City of Anniston Fund established with the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama. This fund provides charitable grants and expenditures within the corporate city limits of Anniston, Alabama. The Anniston Changers are a group of volunteers who are passionate about Anniston and its citizens. The Changers partner with community members and organizations to complete monthly service projects throughout Anniston.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Individuals that meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for assistance. All 3 requirements must be met:

1. Own a home within the Anniston, AL corporate city limits (refer to city map of corporate city limits, link to map: https://tinyurl.com/yc24rb8a); AND

2. Are either over 60, or mentally or physically disabled, or low income; AND

3. Application must be for residential property that you own and occupy as your primary residence.

AREAS OF FUNDING:

Residential property repairs that correct a minor health or safety hazard. Examples of work done in the past include: wheelchair ramps, window replacement, minor roof patching, minor plumbing repairs, minor deck/awning repairs.

GRANT APPLICATION INFO:

1. Applications due by May 13, 2024, at 5:00 PM CT. 

2. Maximum request $2,500.00

3. If selected, the grantee is responsible for finding their own contractor(s). 

4. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed
